The Dirty Thirty

Another Birthday come and gone!
Thank you everyone for all the Birthday wishes here and on Facebook!  My email inbox was bustling all day which made spending my bday in airports coming home all the more fun!  And thank you too for all your kind words yesterday.  It was a tough day, but I made it through.
Now on to the good stuff!

I actually got to start my Birthday Celebrations a few weeks early!
My friends and I were all getting together for a BBQ and SURPRISE a party for me!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't suspect a little something when my husband started asking for my friends phone number....for legal advice.  Really?  You were a Paralegal for several years and still speak with many of your old lawyer friends on a weekly basis, but you need my friends number....whom you've met once?  Oooookay.  I didn't press the issue too much as I didn't want to ruin the fun.  Well they still managed to get me because I didn't expect it on that Saturday night in May.  I think Jamie was even more surprised than me, poor little guy FREAKED out at all the people shouting as we walked in the door!
We spent the rest of the evening catching up, enjoying great food, a glass (or four) of White Sangria (YUM!) and laughing at how our husbands disappeared for the evening, chatting it up like old friends, plotting to start their own blog.  (Yeah right, like they could ever be as fabulous as us! ;)
They even spoiled me with gifts!  A beach bag, travel makeup/jewelery case, nail polish and finally my own bottle of Seche Vite top coat (this stuff is the bees knees!)  Plus some yummy smelling lotion.  All of which got put to good use on our trip.  Well, except for the candle, I'm guessing the hotel may have frowned on that one but you better believe I've been enjoying it at home!
These woman are nothing but amazing and I'm so lucky to have them in my life!
It's hard to believe we only met just a year ago, seems like forever!
Then as you already know.....the weekend of my Birthday was spent in Vegas!  (post to come!)  With BIG thanks to my dad who not only helped make the trip happen, but offered to watch Jamie on top of it all!  If I had a dollar for every time someone told me how great it is to have a dad who babysits I'd be rich!  But I already knew how lucky I was!  Thanks dad for making my 30th one of the best yet!
On my actual Birthday we were busy travelling home.  My dad had planned for us to go to dinner and enjoy my annual DQ ice cream cake....but Jamie had other plans.  Teething.  So needless to say we did Chinese takeout and rain checked the DQ for another day.  My mailbox was FULL of cards which promptly took their spot on the family room/kitchen ledge.  My bestie even slipped in a gift card to my FAVORITE store with a little note saying to treat myself to something on my wish list!  Yay for best friends and post Bday shopping!
And my in laws sent me something in a very distinct little blue box.
A gorgeous pair of Silver Tiffany Bead Earrings.
To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement!
My mother in law is too funny.  She's determined to cross everything off THIS list.  She even mentioned my coveted TB Revas.....but I may have to kill her if she even thinks about spending that much on a pair of shoes!  (Do you hear that MIL...NO $200 shoes! Haha!)

Sigh.  So that's it.  Another Birthday for the books.
Thanks again for making the start of a new decade so fabulous!

P.S. Let the MIL buy you the $200 shoes. If not she can buy them for me. ;)
