Bump Day ~ 17 weeks

How far along? 17 weeks

Weight gain/loss: 5 lbs as of my last appt....3 weeks ago.  I have a sneaking suspicion it's more than that now.

Maternity Clothes? Scrubs and capris.  Thank god for maxi skirts and drawstring linen shorts.

Sleep: Good, no complaints here.

Stretch marks: As long as I get out of this without my stomach looking like a tiger clawed me to shreds I'll be happy.

Best moment this week: I went to the store today.  When I came home, my husband had vacuumed.  This happens like, never, so it pretty much made my day.

Movement: Yes, I'm finally admitting all those flutters I've been feeling are baby, I even felt a tiny little jab the other day.  I forgot just how cool it is.

Food cravings: I've had a love affair with peanut butter M&Ms this week.  Why can't I be one of those pregnant ladies who craves fruit??

Gender: The appt is set!  We find out July 18th!

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I Miss: Walking up a hill without feeling winded.  I took Jamie to the pool today and by the time I lugged him and the wagon up the hill I thought I might die.

What I'm looking forward to:  Finding out of it's a boy or girl!  Three weeks seems so far away!!

Weekly Wisdom:  When you eat like garbage, you feel like garbage.  Step away from the M&Ms and no body gets hurt.

Milestones: I had my hair done for the first time in 7 months.  Does that count?  At this rate the next I step foot into a salon I'll have a baby!

Big Brother: Baby name of the week, Winty Carstar.  They just keep getting better and better.

Bump Day ~ 16 weeks

How far along? 16 weeks.  Which means baby is the size of an avocado.  Last week it was an orange.  I feel like that's a downgrade, an orange seems bigger to me.

Weight gain/loss: 5 lbs as of my last appt.

Maternity Clothes?  Broke down and busted out the maternity scrubs this week.  Wednesday after squeezing myself into my regular ones I decided it was dumb to be miserable all day when I had another option, even if the tops are still ridiculously big.  Who cares.  I was comfortable.

Sleep: I slept almost a solid 12 hours last night.  Enough said.  It was glorious!

Stretch marks: Still nothing new, still itchy.

Best moment this week: I had Tuesday off so I sent Jamie to school and binge watched the second season of Orange is the New Black.

Movement: Felt a few more convincing flutters this week, but still not sure enough to call it.

Food cravings: Bologna  and cheese sandwiches, and it has to be on a hamburger bun.  With Jamie I craved hot dogs, so apparently my children like crappy lunch meat products.

Gender: Intuition still thinks girl, but I won't be surprised if it's a boy.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In.  It never popped with Jamie.  I doubt it will this time.  I think this question needs to go.

What I Miss: Drinks.  Went out with some friends Friday night, sat out on the patio, a pint of beer would have been far more satisfying than my water.  I might have had small samples of everyone else's, you know, quality control.

What I'm looking forward to:  Some full on baby movement!  Now that most of my first tri symptoms have faded away I'm in that weird "Is anything even still in there??" phase.  A little verification would be nice.

Weekly Wisdom:  Jalapeno poppers always sound like a great idea....until the next day.

Milestones: When patients at work as if I have any kids I finally feel comfortable enough to say "Yep, one plus one on the way!"  That's a big step for my pregnant after a loss brain.

Big Brother: Still convinced baby is a girl.  I mentioned baby could be a boy and he just laughed and said "no way mom, it's a sister, duh!"  Also had a few more doozy name suggestions, I need to write them down because I always forget them. He also said out of the blue last week that he and the baby are going to be best buddies and he will even share his toys with her.  Then I died.

Bump Day ~ 15 Weeks

How far along? 15 weeks.  Anyone else feel like I've been pregnant forever?  No?  Just me.....ok then.

Weight gain/loss: As of my appt last week I'm up just shy of 5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?  Just the one pair of capris, everything else has an elastic waist or drawstring so I'm still getting by.

Sleep: Pretty decent.  The middle of the night potty breaks have diminished some so I'm enjoying that while it lasts.  Been having some pretty crazy dreams too.

Stretch marks: Nothing new, I've noticed my stomach is itchy sometimes though, so I probably need to start greasing myself up.

Best moment this week: The nausea finally seems to be subsiding!

Movement: Eh.  Maybe a flutter here and there, but I'm not 100% sure.  Hoping soon!

Food cravings: My sweet tooth this week has been out of control!

Gender: Kinda still leaning towards girl, but starting to think maybe boy?  I've had two dreams now, once it was a girl, once it was a boy, so no help there.

Labor Signs: No, but I've definitely had more cramping this time.  My OB said this is common with second plus pregnancies, which seems backwards to me.  You'd think since I've been there, done that, there would be less stretching to do, but who am I.

Belly Button in or out? In.  Very in.

What I Miss: Feeling confident with my body.  All these changes are having more of an effect on me than I expected.  The weight I put on before I even got pregnant probably didn't help this issue.

What I'm looking forward to:  A bump!  I was really hoping starting at a lower weight I'd pop a bit sooner, but not the case.  In fact the bloat bump has gone down, so it's actually a bit smaller than it was.

Weekly Wisdom:  When your husband asks if you can stay awake long enough to watch a show, just say no.  Otherwise you'll likely fall asleep 5 minutes in and then have no clue what's going on when you try to watch the next episode.

Milestones: I was spotting free for two weeks!  The longest stretch since it started around 8 weeks.  Had a very mild stint on Saturday, but thankfully only once.  To say I'm over all that would be the understatement of the century!

Big Brother: He's pretty dead set the baby is girl, a girl he would like to name Sir Flap-in-plank.  So there's that.  I'm feeling a little mom guilt lately, my patience with him has been very thin.  I feel like I yell a lot more and spend less time with him.  Really trying to be better and I'm hoping when I get some energy back a better attitude comes with it!

Well folks we've finally made it to present day with the bump-dates and can now resume with regular, perhaps even non pregnancy related, programming.  Thanks for bearing with me!

Bump Day ~ 14 weeks

(Originally written 6.8.14)

How far along? 14 weeks, and no official picture, so crappy bathroom pic will have to do.  I also apparently skipped 13 weeks all together.  Oops.  Second child syndrome.

Weight gain/loss: Up a pound since my last appt for a grand total just shy of 5 lbs.  I suppose that's not too shabby for 1st tri.  Heck if I can keep that up I'll only gain 15 lbs total.  I'll pause while we all laugh at that wishful thinking.

Maternity Clothes?  Just the one pair of pants still, which honestly is only because my ones from last summer don't fit and I figured I might as well just go maternity now then buy a pair in a bigger size.  We all know the elastic waist pants are inevitable at some point anyways.

Sleep: So exhausted.  I make it all day just fine, but by the time I get home from work I could go straight to bed.  Obviously that's not an option, so I usually push through until Jamie goes to bed then promptly pass out on the couch.

Stretch marks: Nothing new.  I haven't even bothered with the lotion this time, I know if they're going to happen, they're going to happen.

Best moment this week: Seeing the babe on ultrasound again!  Little stinker was still hiding from the doppler so my OB sent me down the hall for a little TV action.  Baby was so active today, jumping around like crazy, had his/her arm up by it's face again just like last time, the tech says we may have a shy one on our hands!  HB has slowed down some, but still a strong 155!

Movement: Nope.  Radio silence.  Fingers crossed I feel something soon.  Starting to lose some symptoms and no real bump yet, so some verification there's a baby in there will be nice to calm my nerves.

Food cravings: Chick-Fil-A.  I told Adam the other day if I could make sweet love to their grilled chicken sandwich, I would.

Gender: Some days I think girl, some days I think boy.  Seriously, I could go either way.  My OB didn't mention the BIG scan at my next appt, I sure hope I don't have to wait until August to find out!!

Labor Signs: Negative.  And let's keep it that way.

Belly Button in or out? In like flynn.

What I Miss:  Motivation.  I'm so tired all the time the house is looking a wee bit shabby these days.  And by that I mean it's a hot mess, surely you noticed the mirror in the photo up there.  Yikes.   When does that whole nesting thing kick in??

What I'm looking forward to:  Being able to go bra free without feeling like I have to walk around and hold the girls up.  That will happen again right??  I do NOT remember the sore tatas lasting so long.

Weekly Wisdom:  When you think you're starting to maybe get an actual baby bump and are convinced you can now actually feel the top of your uterus popping up, don't be too disappointed when your doctor informs you it's actually still very much tucked away and flaunt that baby bloat anyways!

Milestones: 2nd Tri baby!  1/3 down!  Also took the plunge and went Facebook public, no turning back now!!

Big Brother: Jamie came with me to my appt this week, I thought he'd get a kick out of hearing the heartbeat.  Bonus when he got to see the baby on the ultrasound.  Though I'm still not so sure he really gets it, he was more curious about the gel and the wand than the actual baby dancing up on screen.

Bump Day ~ 12 weeks

(Originally Written 5.23.14)

How far along? 12 weeks

Weight gain/loss: Up 2.5 lbs in 2 weeks.  Blah.  Total gain 4 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?  Those capris I bought for our trip last week sure were comfy!  I felt a little ridiculous wearing them so early, but I forgot about the joys of an elastic waist!

Sleep: Not too bad.

Stretch marks: Nothing new.

Best moment this week: Surprise ultrasound!  So I had yet another bout of spotting this week, obviously not the best moment, but I'm getting there.  So it lingered for several days but was nothing to get too excited over, however the night before we left on an almost week long trip to Ohio I had a mini meltdown that something was wrong.  We delayed our departure so I could make a quick trip to the OB.  They couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler, which at this point isn't unusual, so they snuck me in for an ultrasound.  There up on the big screen was a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat of 175!  Talk about a sigh of relief!  The stupid spotting continued through the weekend but, fingers crossed, has finally left the building!  Hopefully for good this time!

Movement: Still feeling those weird vibrations on and off, but I'm really doubting it's baby.

Food cravings: All my Columbus faves, and the Jeni's Key Lime Pie ice cream did NOT disappoint.  Probably a good thing there's 700 miles between me and the nearest Jeni's or I'd likely be up 10 pounds by now!

Gender: Definitely feeling the girl vibes still.  Had a dream the week I found out I was pregnant, it was next summer and we were at my dad's pool, the baby was a girl and wearing the most adorable red and white polka dot swimsuit.  I just can't shake that.  Though part of me would love a brother for Jamie.  Guess it's a good thing I don't get to choose because I don't think I could!

Labor Signs: No thank you.

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I Miss: The textbook "perfect" pregnancy I had with Jamie.  After a miscarriage I could really do without all these other hiccups.

What I'm looking forward to: 2nd Tri.  Maybe then I'll finally feel a bit more confident that this pregnancy is really happening!

Weekly Wisdom:  Never worry about "bothering" your doctor.  If something doesn't feel right, there's nothing better than the peace of mind only your OB can give you.

Milestones: Dare I say the all day nausea is starting to fade.

Big Brother: Well we figured we'd better tell him the news before he found out from someone else.  He's about as excited as a 3 year old can be.  Which basically means he has absolutely no clue what bomb we just dropped on him, but he thinks it's cool and he says he will share all his toys with the baby.

Bump Day ~ 11 Weeks

(Originally Written 5.16.14)

How far along? 11 weeks

Weight gain/loss: I'm going to *try* not to obsess on the week to week changes and just stick to the monthly weigh ins.  So until further notice, still up 1.5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?  No.  But when at all possible I wear yoga pants or shorts/skirts with an elastic waist.  Oh.  And my new fave, maxi dresses aka crotchless yoga pants.  I did break down and buy a pair of maternity capris for our upcoming trek to Ohio.

Sleep: Still good.  Though I've thought about buying one of those maternity body pillows.  They look amazing.

Stretch marks: Nothing new.

Movement: Call me crazy, but today I felt odd vibrations down under today.  Wasn't gas.  Believe me, I've had plenty of that.  But I'm not convinced it was baby, seems a little early for that.

Food cravings: Brownies.  Which I promptly fulfilled.  They were delicious.

Gender: Still thinking girl.  With Jamie sweets repulsed me for most of 1st Tri.  This time?  Give me all the sweets!

Labor Signs: No thank you.

Belly Button in or out? In.

What I Miss: Beer.  It's going to be a long, sober summer.

What I'm looking forward to: Not feeling terrified that at any moment I'm going to have another miscarriage.  Had some brief spotting again this week which sent my mind to a dark place.  Pregnant after loss brain is a real thing, and it's tough.

Weekly Wisdom: When you ask your husband to take your weekly bump picture, make sure he knows to actually get your whole upper half IN the picture otherwise you'll end up with several great head shots and nothing below the waist.

Bump Day ~ 10 weeks

(Originally written 5.11.14)

How far along? 10 weeks

Weight gain/loss: Up 1.5 lbs since we started this show.

Maternity Clothes?  No, but jeans are becoming a thing of the past.  First thing in the morning?  Not so bad.  By lunch I feel like a stuffed pig.

Sleep: Great.  Though I already have a nightly bathroom break and the big brother seems to think 6AM is a great time to wake up for the day, so there's that.

Stretch marks: A few of my battle wounds from the first go around that I thought had all but disappeared are rearing their ugly head again.  I guess that's to be expected.

Best moment this week: Mother's Day was pretty awesome.  I barely lifted a finger all weekend and went to bed at 8:30.

Movement: Nope.

Food cravings: Chick Fil A.  Of course they're closed on Sunday's so I couldn't fulfill my last Mother's Day wish.

Gender: Mother's intuition has said girl pretty much from the start.  Only 10ish more weeks till we find out if I'm 2 for 2 on my guesses!

Labor Signs: No thank you.

Belly Button in or out? Innie for life!

What I Miss: Not feeling nauseous 24/7.  It's basically my normal these days, not sure I'd know what it was like without it!

What I'm looking forward to: Hearing the HB again.  Four grueling weeks to go.

Weekly Wisdom: If you're going to spend two solid days in the sun, don't think you can get away without using suncreen just because it's "only May" or you will look like one of Santa's reindeer by the end of the weekend.

Milestones: Double Digits and officially 25% done!  Also went Instagram public today, glad to finally share the news with some of my favorite people!

Big Brother:  Still haven't officially told him the news, but we've dropped a few hints here and there.  Had planned on including him in all the weekly pictures, but after today's debacle, I think it's safe to say it may be a one time appearance.

Oops we did it again!

So I'm pretty sure everyone in both real life and the interwebs world already knows this.....
but for old time's sake I'm going to go ahead and drop this here too.

More details to come!  Pardon me while I flood your blogger inboxes while I play a little catch up!  Oh, and if anyone knows a good blog designer, let me know, if I'm going to be around a bit more often, this place definitely needs a little sprucing up!
