No boys allowed?

So while watching my new favorite rerun, How I met your Mother, I had a revelation. Ok two revelations. First, OMG this show is hilarious. How have I missed this fantastic show for so many seasons, it has Doogie Howser in it for heaven's sake! Second, during one of Barney's outbursts he shouts, "This is so going in my blog!" Haha. Now that's a blog I would totally follow. And then it dawns on me. Not only do I not follow a single male blogger, I've never even seen one. Helllooooo men....are you out there???

Kids say the darndest things

So this morning at work I had a little boy, 6 or 7, very matter of fact look up at me and say "You look like my grandma." (Now let's completely overlook the fact that this little boy was black and while I am tan....definitely no where near even a light skinned black person.) What?? Grandma? I'm only 28. I'm not even a mom yet. I know he meant well and at his age didn't realize the crushing effect this innocent comment could have on a 20 something girl. Maybe he thinks his grandma is the most beautiful woman in the world and this was a huge compliment. But seriously? I still get carded pretty much all the time and now in some cute little boys eyes...I'm a grandma. Fantastic. Guess I better let the hair down and start primping a bit more for work. Can anyone recommend a good wrinkle cream??? Haha.

::::Happy Dance::::

Big progress in regards to the move! I passed my Missouri Jurisprudence Exam...with a stellar 86%!!!!

:::Pauses for applause::::

It was open book, dont judge, the questions we pretty far out there and towards the end I stopped caring....all I need was an 80%. SOOOO glad that's over....now all I have to do is wait for that pretty little certificate to show up and I can officially AND legally work as a licensed hygienist in the state of Missouri. HOORAH! I also got an intial interview with an office about a mile from where we will be living! Double Yay!! Maybe the hubs and I won't be seperated for as long as we thought. If this job pans out I can even avoid the never ending process of applying for my Kansas license. Cross those appendages people....since this condo is never going to sell, I need a job ASAP!

P.S. Guilt overrode my desire for mexican and I ended up cooking tonight. I'm glad I did. Homemade burgers and fresh corn on the cob....yum!

Mmmm....chips and salsa

Dear Mr. EyeCanSee,

So I know I promised yesterday I'd start cooking again. I went to the grocery store....bought lots of yummy, delicious and nutritious food to cook. I carried it all up three flights of stairs by myself. I even planned out all the meals so when I came home from work it would be super easy to throw together. But now I really want Mexican. And we don't have anything even resembling mexican food in this house. Can we pretty pretty please with a cherry on top go to La Fogata for dinner and I promise I will cook tomorrow??

XOXO

Now I've see it all

Columbus, Oh has a segway tour. Yes folks, you heard me correctly...you can now tour the "vast" city of Columbus on one of the most geeky forms of transportation ever created. I thought those things had fallen of the radar only to be seen in airports, shopping malls and let's be honest, actual BIG cities with sites to be seen. Twice over the weekend though I have seen these said tours go whizzing by my window. Now don't get me wrong, I heart Cbus and think it's definitly a city on the rise, however I don't think it warrants a 2 hour city tour just yet. You can easily walk most of downtown and the parts you can't get within a few minutes aren't really all that interesting. I wonder what's next for Cbus...maybe they'll revisit that ingenious light rail system.

Happy Sunday!!

Lions and tigers and bears....oh my!

I just took a nap for the first time in forever. It was wonderful. Be jealous.

Hubs and I went to the zoo today and I didn't even have to bribe him with my good looks....he went willingly....in the summer when animals were involved and there were no twinkling lights or hot chocolate. Prior to today I had been informed that he only goes to the zoo at Christmas. So needless to say when I suggested it this morning and he said "sure" I couldn't believe it! I think he's developed a soft spot since he knows will be apart soon when the big move happens. We had a great afternooon though with only a few minor stroller incidents. Adam says when we have kids he's getting the biggest stroller he can find and running everyone over with it cause at some point, he's probably been run over by theirs. Haha. Ok hun.

Off to the Park St Festival to see Saving Jane! Sometimes it's still hard to believe that back in the day, their lead singer was my sorority sister. Weird!

These are a few of my favorite things

(Come on. You know you're singing the Sound of Music now)
So with summertime comes fun new summer stuff! I'm always looking for an excuse to buy more "makeup junk" as the hubs refers to it. I have a closet full of half used lotions, shampoos, hair gels and lip glosses. Call it an obsession, call it what you will....but I love all that girly stuff. Here's a few of my new (and some old) faves!

Found this one while browsing the Body Shop in BWI Airport last week. I always like that shimmery, bronzy look for summer but don't want to look like a glittery 13 year old girl. This is perfect! Just the right amount of shine and you can use it with your own lotion or fragrance which makes it even better!

The best stuff EVER for the curly haired ladies out there! It's a curl cream and leave-in conditioner all in one leaving your hair (and curls) super soft! I add a little gel or mousse for some definition and frizz control and out the door I go! Have I mentioned how much I love my new shorter do?

Great lightweight lotion, not too greasy or heavy in the heat and humidty...plus it smells great

I heart Philosophy. This cleanser is even gentle enough for MY crazy sensitive skin.

Was nervous this would irriate my skin because of the lactic acid in it for exfoliation, but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't! Leaves my face so soft, not gonna lie though, it doesn't smell all that great.

Zits. Come on ladies...we all get them. This is what I call my "magic juice." At even the hint of a pimple I put this on and most of the time it never even shows it's ugly face.

The only Mary Kay product that lasted past college. Satin lips. I use the lip balm like it's my job!

Love this blush from Aveda and the brush it comes with is maybe the softest ever. NARS "orgasm" ain't got nothin' on this one! It's perfect for the sunkissed glow!
