Anniversary wind down

Another year has come and gone!
We had a great Anniversary weekend ringing in 2010
New Year's Eve was pretty low key.
We had dinner with my parents and some friends
Watched the ball drop (11pm our time)
And went to bed.
The baby pretty much runs my sleep schedule these days....
I was lucky to stay awake past 9!
We didn't even manage to cut into our cake,
but I snagged a few photos.
Not too bad lookin' for a year in the freezer!
New Year's Day
We drove 3 1/2 hours to Big Cedar for our weekend getaway
The resort reminded me of the place they went to in Dirty Dancing.
Lot's of onsite things to do and several places to eat.
No Patrick Swayze though.
Bummer.
Here's our cute little one room cabin
Complete with Christmas tree!

The hubby bought me sparkling grape juice for toasting!
Apparently I'm going to carry all my baby weight in my boobs and face.
When did I get a 2nd chin?!? Yikes!

We ordered in room service.
Watched the Buckeyes win the Rose Bowl.
And tried to light a fire. Three times.
I guess I should have spent more time in Girl Scouts.

Saturday we had the BEST breakfast at one of the lodge restaurants.
We then ventured to Branson to sight see and shop

After shopping we checked out the Titanic museum.
I wanted to catch one of Branson's famous shows,
but they were all on break now after the holiday. Boo!

Saturday night we ate dinner at another one of the lodge restaurants.

My husband is in fact taller then me, but for some reason in pictures,

likes to hunch down and make me look like the Jolly Green giant.
At least I only have one chin in this one. WOO HOO!

We went back to the cabin and attempted a fire again
Woo hoo! Success!
OK. We cheated and went to Walmart and bought one of those fake logs.
Oh well. Fire is fire. Right?!

And we finally cut into our cake!

This is one well travelled baked good!
Like any smart woman,

I made my husband try it first.

It was actually pretty good...

for year old cake!

Sunday morning we woke up to this

A winter wonderland!

We ate breakfast here.

Delicious again!

Then is was back on the road for a snowy drive home!

So far it's been a great start to 2010!

Hope you all had a great New Year!

The cake looked great and I’m glad that it wasn’t bad. I was shocked that our cake was edible too! Your getaway weekend looks so cozy and that is so sweet that hubby brought you sparkling grape juice for your toast.

P.S. I love that green argyle sweater!

I am kind of scared to try our year old wedding cake in July! I'll definitely do it, but it just seems like it will be gross!
