I ruined the mojo

So as you may or may not already know, my family are HUGE K-State Wildcat fans. It started in high school for me. My older brother was in college and the family started going down to Manhattan, KS aka the "Little Apple" for some of the football games. At 14 I wasn't a big fan, but I liked the atmosphere of the stadium and watching the cheerleaders and the band. By 15 my parents bought season tickets, but they only bought two. I got a season ticket with my brother in the student section....where I got to sit every week with him and all his fraternity brothers. Umm..hello, this was football I could get into. I eventually learned the game, for the most part, and was so excited when we moved back to KC that for the first time in 10 years I would get to go to the games. We've even worked on turning my hubby into a fan....and I can't wait to dress our little peanut in purple for his/her first official game!
Baby's first official K-State outfit. I couldn't resist.

Now onto the part where I ruined the mojo. K-State was never good at basketball. We left that to the lesser school in our state, KU (blech!) Well this year our little Cats have gone and taken a turn for the better, being ranked in the top 10 for a good portion of the season. (Until I ruined the mojo) Even taking down the #1 team last week, the Texas Longhorns! They were on a roll....until I stepped foot into the Octagon of Doom. (Yes, they really call it that) Saturday the Wildcats were playing unranked Oklahoma State, so my brother graciously offered his tickets to me and the hubs. Excited for my first ever basketball game, seeing Willie the Wildcat in something other than his football garb, I was stoked. Well as soon as the game started, the excitement pretty much wore off. Who was this team?!? They couldn't make a shot, rebounds..forget it, and apparently free throws hadn't been on the agenda during practice. They were down right horrible. You can guess the outcome, a big fat loss. I am never allowed to step foot in the arena again. I ruined the mojo.
Before the games started. We were still smiling and expletives weren't flying outta my mouth. Good thing the baby can't hear yet....
We got there early (as you can see from the empty stands) to watch the teams warm up...perhaps they should have started practicing earlier. At least our seats rocked...6th row baby!
Willie the Wildcat...our faithful mascot. (I have a small obsession with him)

We play #2 ranked KU this Saturday...our biggest rival. I don't even know if I'll be allowed to watch it on TV....for mojo's sake of course. Keeping my fingers crossed!

We saw a little of that game on Sat. at Eddie George's 27 restaraunt. I thought of you guys being there, because it did not look like they were being very successful. Bummer.
