Where it's always 58 degrees

My garage that is. I love it. Every morning I get into my car and the temp reads 58. As I back out into the frozen cold tundra I watch it plummet into single digits.

When we first moved to KC, I'd been letting the hubs park in the single car garage. My car had never seen the inside of one so what did I care. Plus, it was August. Well after our first few weeks of winter, my poor hubby has graciously given up his spot. I'm a spoiled wife and it's fantastic!

After living 10 years sans a garage I've quickly remembered how wonderful they are. I don't have to wear my hat, gloves and scarf on the drive to work anymore. I don't have to wait for my car to heat up before even thinking about turning on the heat. And the best part of all....I don't have to scrape the 5 inch layer of ice and snow off my windshield.

Ahhh....so this is what heaven is like!

As a curly haired girl myself, I love when big named celebs rock the curls.

I do not like it when they join the rest of the lemmings and iron it out.

For years I flat ironed my hair, refusing to believe I had curly hair. One day I said screw this, and have embraced my locks ever since. On rare occasions (and when I say rare I mean when my hair stylist does it) I will still straighten my hair, but I don't have the patience to do it myself anymore. I hope this is Ms. Swift's story....cause if she starts donning this look on a permanent basis, I will be sorely disappointed! Bring back the curls Taylor!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!!!!

Ok. By now you're probably thinking I've got Christmas spirit shooting out of my ass, but I promise this will be the last holiday related post of the season week.

So this year when we moved all our worldly possessions we were smart enough to keep our Christmas tree near the front of our ginormous storage unit. We were not, however, smart enough to also place the two totes full of Christmas decor, including all the ornaments, near the front as well. I took this as a sign our tree needed a new theme.

Now as a child we did not have themed trees. It was your typical all-American hodge podge of all the ornaments we had collected over the years. When I finally left the nest and got my own tree I didn't have enough things to fill it, so the first themed tree was born. A beautiful collection of red and gold ornaments. This motif stayed through 2 trees and 4 Christmases. It really was time to bid it a fond farewell.

This year I present to you my Winter Wonderland tree, courtesy of the Target holiday dept. It turned out great!! A mix of silver, icy blue and white snowflakes.....I'm in tree heaven! And if you look closely you'll see our Bride and Groom, First Christmas Together ornament courtesy of my mother-in-law!

Do you love my cheesy paint effort at trying to make it say "The EyeCanSee's." Haha.

It's beginning to smell alot like Christmas

Yep. You read that right. I love the smells of Christmas. This year I seem to have found a magical concoction that even the neighbors are raving about. Oh the perks of living in a condo building...not only can you hear everything, apparently even smells make it out into the hallway. So what is the wonderful combo I've created? One part Frosted Cranberry. One part Fresh Balsam. And one part Twisted Peppermint. All courtesy of White Barn Candle Company. We may not have a real tree, but darn it, it smells like one!

The Christmas cards are in!! Hubby picked the green, I picked the red. It seems funny using wedding pictures as we approach our 1 year anniversary, but this is technically our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. and a lot of our friends and family who didn't make it haven't seen them. Plus it saved the trouble of taking a new one or trying to find one where I didn't look goofy and the hubs eyes were open.

I also wanted to share our cards from holidays past...but stupid Kodak Gallery won't let me open them to a size bigger than a postage stamp, so you'll just have to imagine how glorious they were! In all my searches though I did find something even better. Our first family photo. Circa 2007
Apparently we were too busy making sure we looked good, we didn't notice Kasey trying to make a run for it and Moose being....well, Moose.

Q&A Part Deux

SG asked what my 3 biggest pet peeves are.

1. People who don't use their turn signals. It's not an optional accessory people...USE IT!

2. People who sing the wrong words to songs or mumble through the parts they don't know. I have a weird knack of picking up and remembering song lyrics pretty easily so this drives me bonkers.

3. This one is kinda new since I've been subbing in different offices all the time. I can't stand when people act aggravated when you ask a question or don't know how to work something. Ummm, hello, I've been here like 5 minutes. Kill me.

Brittany Ann asked if I could only choose one meal to eat for the rest of my life, what would it be and would I share it with my hubby.

This is a tough one since my food cravings come and go, but if I had to pick today..I'd choose Chipotle. I am ashamed proud to admit I ate it two days in a row this week. And since I would be eating it everyday....for the rest of my life, I could probably share a bite or two with the hubs.

Christin asked what my favorite Wedding Day memory was.

Another tough one...there were so many!! But I'm going to have to say the moment I walked down the aisle and say my soon to be husband for the first time. We chose not to do any pictures before hand so this moment was extra special. I had been sequestered in the back room of the church and the nervous butterflies were fluttering. As soon as it was time to go, all of it melted away. I didn't hear the song I so pain stakingly picked. I didn't see all my friends and family. All I saw was my groom. I felt like it was just the two of us. I couldn't stop smiling. It was truly amazing.

ae asked what my dream vacation would be if time and money were of no concern.

Now this one is easy!! Europe! First I'd hit England, Ireland and London. Then I'd cruise the Greek Isles.

Crazy Shenanigans asked what TV show I would want to be on and why.

How I Met your Mother. No question. This has become one of my favorite shows! I want to be friends with all these totally awesome people....even if writers are behind it all.

Rosalyn Kay asked if I could spend $1000 on something only to pamper myself, what would it be?

I've always wanted to go to one of those fancy shmancy spa resorts. A weekend of massages, facials, mud baths and champagne. Sign me up!

Jane asked if I had to live somewhere else, where would it be.

The Florida Keys. Not Key West, but one of the more remote ones. It's all the comforts of the US with a Caribbean "Hey Mon" mentality. I heart the keys.
