A bump in the road

So the house hunt is going to be put on hold for awhile. How long?? Who knows.

One of our fears when applying for a loan was if the banks were going to be unsure of my current job situation. Working for a sub agency does not guarantee you hours. While I have the paycheck stubs to prove I've been working and bringing home the bacon, nothing is guaranteed. Well our fears became a reality on Friday when our super nice loan guy called and said there's not much he can do with my income with only a 2 month track record.

Sigh.

We were pretty disappointed at first, but had a big suspicion that was going to happen which made it easier to take. So it looks like we will be living at Casa Mom and Dad until I get a permanent job. Luckily I have an interview next Monday and potentially another one this week. So we're keeping our fingers crossed and trying not to give up hope!

What a bummer! I'm sorry :( It'll happen, just a little bit further down the road. And your dream house will be waiting!

ugh... that really sucks, i am so sorry! hopefully the interviews will go well. who knows, maybe the "loan gods" know that your dream house hasn't been put on the market yet... they're just waiting for that to happen :)

Boo, that's a bummer!! The good news is that at least you have a place to stay in the meantime and you can keep saving for that new house! You'll get a house when you're meant to, and maybe a better one than you had imagined during your first search! Sorry to be all cheery about it, sometimes when things suck, I get annoyed at people who are all "everything happens for a reason" I'm like, why can't you just say "that sucks"!! haha, maybe it's just me :)

That sucks :( In the meantime, save save save for that downpayment! I so wish I could house hunt now as well, but the Mr. will be in school until May :(

I'm sorry that this time didn't work our for you, but definitely second the previous poster who said to save for your down payment. The better your down payment the bigger of a house you can buy without having to pay PMI (mortgage insurace). PMI isn't terribly fun and stays on your loan until you are at 80% loan to value...

Good luck with your job interview!

What a bummer indeed! Dont worry when you are meant to find a house, it will all work out perfectly! Until then keep your head up!

Praying for you - use this time to get and stay closer to your parents!! You will be soo happy you are following God's plan...your "perfect" house is probably just not available yet...God definitely has a plan! Hang in there!

Just a little bump in the road is right! Hang in there, and keep searching. this will only make you guys appreciate your house that much more when you get it!

We were a little worried about this with my husbands job in commercial real estate, and my dad warned us about this early on .... but now he has a track record that hopefully will help us when we are ready. Sorry to hear the crummy news!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear this! Hopefully you'll be able to find something more permanent on the job front and will be able to continue your house hunting! Hang in there!

Sorry to hear about your disapointment--Glad you have somewhere to stay that allows you to keep saving. Good luck!

hang in there... just think positively and that just means that the perfect house isn't there for you yet, but it will be when you get the financing!!!!!!!

ps- i am totally regretting that we bought a house. it's my nightmare because i feel like all we do is work to make the house payment. renting was MUCH easier.

I'm sure that everything will fall into place for you very soon! I'm sorry that this is happening. The positive is that you'll be able to save some dough living at the 'rents and maybe get something bigger and better when the time comes.
