Yep...Brunettes definitely have as much fun!

Before
My natural hair color these days is pretty dark brown.
(or so my roots tell me)
As a child I was blond.
I've had a hard time giving up my childhood and have had highlights for as long as I can remember.
Well this girl is saying no more!
With a baby and a full time work schedule, regular trips to the salon just weren't happening.
Case in point.  Jamie is 5 months old.  The last time I had my hair done I was still pregnant.
Yikes!  My roots were scary!
So Saturday I sat down in the chair and said, "Make me a brunette!"

After
The hubs claims to like it...or at least said, "if you're happy with it, that's all that matters."
Basically a nice way of saying, I don't hate it....but it's not my favorite look.
Whatever, I'll take it.  I knew going into my dark haired transformation that he was more of a blond lover, but he'll get over it.
Jamie took one look at me, scrunched up his face and started screaming.
Well.
Guess I know his response.
Though I honestly think he didn't recognize me at first and in the last week or so has developed a bad case of "stranger danger."  Joy.  A mama's boy already.  Once he finally figured out it was still me, I think he liked it!

Me?  I'm loving it.  And that's all that really matters anyway!
I think it really brings out my green eyes and my face doesn't looks so pale and washed out anymore.
Guess God knew what he was doing when he made this my natural color!

Really cute! I did the same thing after my first son was born. I am thinking about doing the same thing again only my hair doesn't retain pigmant at all was mousey in two weeks but I did like not having to look at my roots. I'm with you on the "long time since the salon" thing though. My last trip was two weeks before giving birth - and Bo is pushing 7 months. You've totally motivated me to make an appointment though!

Emily you look great with the new hair color. Of course, you looked great as a blonde too but I like the new look. Jamie looks like he loves the new color as well. I also like the straight look. You are so lucky to be able to have the straight look and the beautiful curly look. Are you and Amy sisters?

I love it! I've had the same problem and tried it once, my husband loved it and I HATED it. Was such a shock and didn't look well on me at all. :( So as I type I am remembering that I too need a highlight touch up. My last one was in November and I already need them again! I so wish I could deal with the brown! It costs so much to do all the time and looks bad if you don't!

Your hair looks fantastic and so do you! I love it on you and it really brings out your eyes. The last pic of you and Jaime is so adorable.

My roots get darker every year, but I'm not ready to give up my blonde locks and I don't know if I ever will. I need some highlights in a bad way. I definitely let me hair go in the winter.

I.freaking.love.it! Seriously! Wow! Stunning! I am kinda dying to go totally brunette, but my stylist talks me out of it. She's always like "let's ease into it with some lowlights." Well, I hate lowlights. They dont make me look like a brunette; they make me look mousy. I wanna just GO for IT! I'm just so scared it'd be really hard to go back blonde if I did end up hating it. You're brave and it definitely worked out for you. I should follow your lead! Gorgeous!

I love the natural color! My sister did the same thing after her first baby - she had been a blond as long as I can remember, but its' hard work keeping that up with kids!
