A Christmas with two firsts

I've tried really hard this year to keep the Christmas spirit alive for Jamie's first Christmas, but sometimes it's hard when I know it's also our first Christmas without my mom.  Thankfully he's too little to understand why his mommy is so sad and hopefully one day he'll help me rediscover the magic of Christmas, cause this year it just seems lost.  Someone sent my dad this poem and I wanted to share it with all those other bloggers out there who are celebrating a different kind of first Christmas this year.

Merry Christmas from Heaven

I still hear the songs
I still see the lights
I still feel your love
on cold wintry nights.

I still share your hopes
and all your cares
I'll even remind you
to please say all your prayers.

I just want to tell you
you still make me proud
You stand head and shoulders
above all the crowd.

Keep trying each moment
to stay in His grace
I came here before you
to help set your place.

You don't have to be
perfect all the time
He forgives you the slip
if you continue to climb.

To my family and friends
please be thankful today
I'm still close beside you
in a new special way.

I love you all dearly
now don't shed a tear
cause I'm spending my
Christmas with Jesus this year.

Merry Christmas Mom
XOXO

I know this Christmas is bittersweet for you. I hope you are able to focus on the joy and fun of celebrating Jamie's first Christmas and know that your mom is celebrating with you all from above. xoxo

Love that poem- it is really inspirational. I will have to send that to my best friend whose mom passed away.
Thinking of you during the holiday season!

This made me cry. I'm thinking of you all through this time. I know your mom would have had a blast with Jamie on his first Christmas.
