Notice anything different?

Here's how our family room has looked looked pretty much the entire time we've lived here.
(Minus the Christmas decorations of course)
Notice anything missing?
I'll help you out.
With the exception of a few random tables, a lamp, one small chair and my husband's old tv, our family room is lacking one major ingredient.
A couch.
Well since we don't have the moohlah to buy one right now
And our basement man den is currently missing part of a wall (that's a whole other story)
I made the executive decision that we were moving the one couch we do have upstairs where it's warmer and where we can actually enjoy our Christmas tree, stockings and super sweet fireplace.
So Saturday afternoon the hubs and I managed to move our GIANT couch upstairs!
I am loving it!  So warm and cozy for the winter.  I don't even mind the small TV, though I've been informed we will be moving the bigger one, along with the DVR box, too.
Whatever.
It's not exactly the furniture I had envisioned for the family room, but hey, it's better than nothing!
What do you think?
And just for fun I threw in a picture of our house all decked out for the holidays!

Looks great! I am totally jealous of your fireplace. Luckily, I get to enjoy one when I go home for Christmas but one week is just not enough "reading by the fire" time!

I think it looks great and it makes a lot more sense for it to be up there for everyone to use it!

I see your snow!!! I am 100% jealous of your fabulous corner fireplace and wood wall. I would kill for those features in my house!!! It looks wonderful with the sofas in there!!! I definitely don't blame you for wanting to get use of that fireplace. :) XOXO

looks great! I'm impressed that you guys moved that monster of a couch by yourself! And no holes in the wall! (if you've kept up with my blog you saw the photos from when we moved a couch to the basement!) LOVE that fireplace, but it's awesome right about now since we're freezing our butts off!

I think you made an awesome decision by moving the couch upstairs, especially with Christmas right around the corner. I absolutely love your brick fireplace. It looks so cozy and inviting. That is a prerequisite for my next house.

You house is really cute btw and the lights looks great! You have no idea how badly I want to move out of our townhouse and have a single home. I’m hoping I can hang in here another 2 years at the most.
