Today

Today someone else gets to spend the day with Jamie.
Someone else gets to snuggle him and dry his tears.
Today someone else gets to see his smiles
and hear his laughs.
Today someone else gets to smell his sweet baby smell.
Today is the day I've been dreading for 6 weeks.
The day I have to go back to work.
The day I have to leave my son at home.
I cried the entire drive...then dried my tears in the parking lot so I could put on my brave face.
They all tell me it will get easier.
I hope they're right.
Cause today was maybe the hardest day of my life.

Oh man, that sucks I'm sorry!! You and KLaw are both going to have tough weeks with going back to work. Just think of how happy he'll be to see you tonight and get covered with mommy kisses. Hang in there!

I’m thinking of you today and hoping that it gets a little easier. Please take care and know that you’ll see his happy, smiling little face as soon as the day is done.

I just went through this almost 4 weeks ago. It is so hard and I still cry about having to leave my little man sometimes. I promise it does get easier though. I didn't believe everyone at first either. Thinking about you today!

going back to work sucks!!!!! i felt like i had my 6 weeks, and now it was time to return my child to his rightful owner! but after a few days you realize you still get to keep him :) and you hold him every chance you get. and you think about his smell at work. and you wonder what he's doing right now. and you wonder how long he slept. and you wonder if he's eating when he's supposed to be. Sigh.
who is watching him for you?

Oh so sorry you're day is like this. It is NO fun:( To be honest, it does get a little easier, but in my opinion it doesn't get any better. The routine of being away gets easier, you get used to it and make the best of it. I also try and make the best of being at work, but I know in my heart the place for me is to be with my daughter. I keep praying and thinking about it, and hope that one day I can be the one drying tears and cuddling with her. I hope your day goes okay, you will not want to put him down tonight!

Oh honey! Wow that came fast! six weeks is not enough. Trust me, I've gone back twice after birth. Once at 12 weeks and once at 8 weeks. It wasn't enough. It's never enough.

But you will CHERISH those weekends and holidays. You will appreciate every minute. You will feel great at the end of the day when you get to go home to your baby boy.

It took about a month for me and I was feeling better. But you will always have those days when you'd rather be with your baby boy.

And now I'm gonna be all cliche and say, "Hang in there."

I'm hoping he's with someone you really trust who will love on him like he were their own. That's always a comfort. I totally understand your tears... just a reminder -- you are still AN AWESOME MOM and your son will still LOVE YOU like no other even though you are working!

oh girl I'm sorry! That is definitely a hard day! My son is almost 2 and I still have a hard time taking him to daycare. It is definitely easier than it was back when he was just a tiny thing though! Good luck, I hope you did ok through the day!

Sending love. :( My girl friend said her dad (the person watching her son) sends her photos all day and it makes it easier.. Maybe ask your sitter to do that?! Hugs, girl.

Aww, I feel your pain! You always want to be the one there for your baby. Unfortunately, it's just not in the cards for every family. There is no way we would be able to let me stay home. But, I am in a pretty good situation with him so close by. Just know it DOES get better. Your not the only mom out there that has to leave their child in the care of another. It IS so hard, but we just gotta do what we gotta do! Becky & I both went back to work & everything is turning out okay! :)
