Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree!

As much as I've been dragging my feet to get the tree trimmed, when I finally got to it, it was like a walk down memory lane.  That's what I love about our tree.  It's like the story of our lives and every year I pull out the ornaments it's like reliving moments, events and vacations all over again.  Plus there's the excitement of putting all the new ornaments on that we've collected since the last Christmas.  While I have nothing against themed trees, heck we did one last year since all our things were in storage, there's nothing better than the hodge podge tree of ornaments you've picked up through the years.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  Here's a little peak into the 2010 chapters of our lives....ornament style!

12.31.09
We celebrated our 1st Anniversary at Big Cedar Lodge
April 15, 2010
We closed on our first home!
8.9.10
Our family of two became a family of three!
Jamie's First Christmas!
10.27.10
I lost my mom, my best friend.
I didn't go looking for an ornament to commemorate this occasion, it's not necessarily something I want to relive every year when I trim the tree....but when I saw this in the store, hanging ironically right next to the Baby's First Christmas ornaments, I knew I had to have it.  Now every year when I see it hanging on the tree, I know my mom is there in spirit.

I love your Christmas tree and definitely agree with what you're saying. My tree is filled with memories too. There are even ornaments on it that commemorate my first Christmas. I definitely think its fantastic when your tree tells a story.

Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!

Wow, the tree is beautiful! We have a hodge podge of ornaments as well. But now they also serve as new "toys" that Landon tries to pull off and play with when I'm not looking :)

It was so great finally getting to meet you. Really fun and I hope we get to do it again. I promise I won't order chocolate chip pancakes for Landon. Boy, was that a mistake!

The tree looks beautiful and I’m the same as you with ornaments. Putting them on the tree brings back special moments and memories that are always so special to reflect on around the holidays. We did a theme last year, but I couldn’t go without putting all of my meaningful ornaments on the tree.

I think it’s really special that you have that ornament to remember your mom.

What beautiful reminders of life... the highs and the lows. I love the 1st house ornament.. I wish we had done something for our first house (even if we only spent 6 months in it). The one for your mom is Beautiful!
