Friday Confessional

The Juice is Worth the Squeeze

Last week I purposely bought the coconut cupcake so I wouldn't have to share.

There are times I wish I could just take off my mom hat, hang up my wife coat and check out for a day.  To think single Emily used to think she was soooo busy all the time.  I'm going to go back in time and smack her.

I still think Twilight is dumb.  But Vampire Diaries??  Best.show.ever.

Last Friday night I was in bed by 9:30.  Party animal right here folks.

I get odd satisfaction from popping a good zit.  Bonus points if it hits the mirror.

Now that pants weather is here....I consider it a good week if I shave my legs once.

I also wear these super awesome fuzzy grandma socks to bed every night.  My husband is the luckiest man alive.

The self proclaimed queen of "Respect the Turkey!" smiled a little when she saw some Christmas lights on her drive home.

At least once a week there's this guy called Psychic Andy on the morning radio show I listen to.  Usually I call bullshit on those people, but I'm totally tempted to call.  I mean really, who doesn't want to know who their spirit guide is.

I chuckle a little on the inside when I hear moms talk about major blowouts with disposable diapers.  Especially when that mom is all "Ewwww!  Cloth Diapers?!?  Gross, I could NEVER deal with all that poop"  Ummm...newsflash, you're touching WAY more poop than I ever have.  And I've never had to throw away or cut my child out of a onesie.

Call me old fashioned, but I think it's weird when you see a couple or family in the car together and the wife is driving.

Every single week that TV show Parenthood makes me cry.  Every stinkin' time.

What are your deep, dark, burning secrets??

I totally cry at Parenthood and the only time I've ever had to cut my kid out of a onesie was before I started cloth diapering.

The assplosions in sposies were what led me to cloth. Glorious!

I have a BIG secret to share but I am holding out. The zit thing...amen sister.

OMG. I'm totally with you on judging couples/families with the women driving. And then I hate myself for doing that, because REALLY? Do I really think we're all so delicate or stupid that we must have our menfolks driving us around? Well apparently...yes. Ugh. Women driving the husband and family will be the last frontier of women's lib, I suppose. :)

OMG you have me dying! Bonus points for hitting mirror=LOL.
I love zit popping too. Bad habit!
I wish I could use cloth diapers. We live in an apt building though and I really would feel bad trying to wash poopy diapers in a washing machine other people use. LOL

Twilight is dumb.

Yes, I thought I was busy before kids. Dumb also.

Less shaving legs = awesome!

I drive when I am with Adam probably 85% of the time. Unless we are on a long trip, I drive. We always take my car since it gets better gas mileage than his truck. Plus he drives too slow. He also calls my car the micro machine (it's a Camry) and hates driving it.

Ladies I need to know more about this whole non explosions in cloth diapers. My daughter is Queen of explosions. I've never cut an outfit off of her but I have thrown many outfits away. I call it the new clothes curse where I take the tags off an outfit and she immediately poops all over it.

I always wonder why the woman is driving when I see a family or couple in the car too. I personally hate driving and suck at it, so my husband only lets me if he's drunk and I offered to be the DD lol

We've definitely cut onesies off of L before when he was little lol. The only reason I didn't want to cloth diaper was because I didn't want to deal with more laundry.

Yea, I always thought I was so busy too when I was single. What a moron I was :P

Leg shaving definitely falls by the wayside during pants weather. I try to shave like twice a week so my husband isn't completely grossed out

My husband always prefers to drive, I think he feels less manly when I drive.

I didn't want to do cloth diapers because I despise doing laundry and didn't want to have to wash even more stuff.

Hi! I'm a new reader here and I will definitely be coming back based on this post alone! I feel like I could've written most of these myself. :) The zit thing and the cloth diaper thing-- so true!

Oh I know I'm going to be in bed at about 9:30 tonight too! I feel like sometimes I get in bed earlier on Friday than other nights of the week.

1. I love cloth diapers. 5 kids. 11 years. But I switch to disposables when they hit MASSIVE NIGHTTIME PEEING VELOCITY.
2. I feel lucky to know you in real life.
3. Parenthood always makes me bawl, too. My mom VIDEOTAPES it for me and I watch it when the kids are sleeping.
4. You make me want to do a confessional post! But I could never be as cool as you :-)

Ditto on the leg shaving, by the way.

Haha, cloth diapers seriously are the best! Maybe we should promote the "no blow-out" perk more.

I'm also a fan of popping a good zit. And I thought I was the only one.

My confession: I totally went back to bed today after my girls went to school. Had myself a good old fashined nap! :)

omg i died at the zit thing. i so do that. and that satisfying crunch? yea. i'm grossing myself out but... it's true.

i hate driving. i hate driving even more with mr. p in the car because he is the worst back seat driver EVER. if you pass me and him and i'm driving, chances are i'll look mad as hell. that's why it doesn't happen too often.
