Tasty Tuesday

I have a ton of fresh green beans to get rid of before they go bad....so this weeks recipe is really more of a side dish. I found this winner in a South Beach cookbook a few years back and it's become one of our fave summer side dishes. They go great with just about anything you can grill...I'm having them with turkey brats tonight. I will admit I was a little leery to try the Turkey Bratwurst, but they are delish and taste pretty darn close to the real thing. I like to pre steam them in a pan with some beer before they hit the grill to give them a more authentic taste. Yum!

Sesame Green Beans
Serves: 4 (we easily polish them off just the two of us)
Calories: 50

1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
3/4 t dark sesame oil
1 small garlic clove, minced
1 pound green beans, trimmed
12 cherry tomatoes, halved (Hubs hate tomatoes so I omit these)
Salt

Whisk together soy sauce, oil and garlic in a large bowl.

Bring a sauce pan of salted water to a boil. Add beans and cool until tender, about 2 minutes. Drain and run under cold water for 30 seconds. Add beans and tomatoes to soy sauce mixture and toss to combine. Serve at room temp or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Bon Appetite!

We eat some kind of turkey sausage/brat/ground turkey atleast once a week. So much leaner than ground beef but still satisfies the hunger!

And oddly enough, we're making almost the exact same green beans tonight with some grilled chicken breasts . . . great minds think alike ;-)

Green Beans are my fav!! They were the only things I ate after having my wisdom teeth out (I know, I'm odd). Have you ever tried the chicken brats? I can't think of the brand, but we buy them at Sam's. They're good too.

The green beans sound delicious! Green beans are one of my favorite veggies! I must agree you with on turkey products. The hubby and I were a little leary at first but now we love it and use turkey a couple of times a week!

I love you blog btw....found it through Kentucky Newlyweds
